Very informative. This answers a lot of common questions on this forum.

Very useful.  I use 64GB and change each time it lands or I change battery.
I could use 16GB but the sweet spot on on the pricing was 64GB.

There are other reasons for using a larger card
1 If I need to fly again and have no spare card  I can.
2 Wear levelling.  the SDCH Extreme cards from Sandisk have this . It evens out the usage of the memory use across the memory on the card.   Flash memory has a finite number or write/re-wrtie cycles.  Therefore a 64GB card will last 4 times longer than a 16GB card if you change it each time you fly/change battery   (at the moment 1 * 64GB card costs a lot less thah 4* 16GB cards)

Interesting workflow.

With Mavic Air this is really a tedious process as it is very difficult to remove and re-insert the memory card. Thus the higher capacity card is most definitely a requirement.

In this case I agree, despite the increased risk of loss of data (if you loose the drone)  In which case the wear levelling is even more important. So use a larger card than you would normaly need.

However let me tell you something you might or might not be aware of.

Photo`s are saved as thumbnails on the mobile device one uses BUT
Video is apparently saved in full resolution.

Thus, one might in most situations or the loss of a drone, be able to get the data (photo`s and video`s)  from the mobile device.
