I have a P4P ,   of course it is 6 months out of Warrenty
It has not been crashed and no hard  landings,  after flying yesterday I noticed the bottom shell arm  by the motor is cracked,
I know they know there is a problem,   and they should repair at a reduded price ,
My question is:
Has anyone had DJI repair theirs for shell cracks,  with no crash,
What did it cost for repair ?
Or does anyone recommend a place that repairs DJI Phantom 4 Pro drones.
I am located in Missouri
Thank you for any feedback

You might take a look at plast-aid.  You can use it to repair the cracks, but you can also use it to build up the area on the inside of the shell to make the plastic thicker where cracks form.  I've heard that after it dries it is actually harder than the original plastic.  Good luck.

Hi there, I appreciate your time bringing this query to us. Can you please show us a sample photo of the cracked on your drone? So we can check this on our end. Thank you.

Hi kubota344, thanks for getting back to us. It is recommended to start a case and send it in from here: https://www.dji.com/support I'm afraid that it might be paid service if the unit has been out of the warranty. For the repair cost, you may visit this link: https://repair.dji.com/repair/price-inquiry

The LOWER Body does not appear to be listed.  And is labor included?

Thx

Hi. So my bottom shell has once again cracked near the motor's air vent like described / shown above. This is the second time this has happened with my drone. My P4P is also still under warranty.

It's a widely known issue with the P4P and has been reported a number of times. Here's my thread: https://forum.dji.com/thread-137806-1-1.html

I had basically the same issue occur on the same spot, granted my cracks weren't as developed.

Mine was under warranty but they still send you an invoice with what it would have cost. Total before the 100% discount was $95AUD with $60 labor and a $35 Middle Frame.

Oddly, DJI opted to just fully replace my unit instead of repairing it.

Mine never cost that much to repair. It was sent to their California repair center. The lower case was only $6 ha. Needless to say I’ll be sending mine back out to once again get repaired. Once it comes back this drone will be my backup as I’ll be investing in an inspire 2.

I bought my P4P in Dec 2017......have about 180 flights on 4 batteries.  Usually I pick her up by the right rear arm, with 1 finger under the right rear leg.

No issues YET.  No crashes or hard landings.....

There is a possibility of flying hard in SPORT MODE, and then letting off the sticks is causing HARD Braking......this stress can cause fatigue in the areas of your cracked arms.

I suggest soften your braking settings, and don't just let go of the sticks while hauling $$A.  These birds are NOT indestructible.

I have never used anything other than P mode to date.  I really cannot see the reason for me using s mode..........  huh,  I can get out of range quick enough as it is !

PS:   I just wondered if the cracks were due to extra strain of manouvering in the S mode.  You know harsher accelaration & braking forces ..

Even in P mode, if you are cruizing along at 27mph,  and let go of the sticks, and braking has not be softened,  then those stresses can fatigue the plastic.

This cracking is very obviously a manufacturing defect or design shortfall.  DJI should be offering a fix ???????

A bit of two component epoxy should do wanders.... even does not disturb overall balance of the craft.

Will do.  Keep you informed that is.
My DJI warranty expired in December.  But I have a 12 month extended warranty provided by the supplier at the time of purchase.
There 'shouldn't'  be a problem,  but ..................
