Hi, I'm new to DJI Mavic 2 Pro. I bought a brand new Mavic 2 pro in Germany and got the same issue with my Android Phono (OnePlus 3 on Android 9.0.6). This is what happened to me: - First-usage setup worked w/o any problems (registration, firmware updates etc.) using the Android phone. The first flight at home (garden) worked also without any problem.
- Later I charged the remote controller.
- I drove to a landscape area (no wlan in this area) to test the drone more intense:
- connected the Android phone to the remote controller, started the controller & the drone
- compass error --> needed to calibrate the compass (that's normal, happens also with the DJI mavic mini)
- calibration successful --> 10 seconds afterwards: remote connection error.
- Restarting the controller, drone, phone, reconnecting phone to controller didn't help at all. --> always this notification appears after 5 seconds of connecting phone, controller & drone.
- aborted the test and drove home :-(
After some research I found hints to either put the android phone in airplane mode (why?! My DJI Mavic Mini had NEVER this issue with my Android phone!) or simply use an apple device, because it should be optimized for that... So far, I did 2 flights (one short with Android, another 30min flight with iPhone x). Both worked. @DJI: You really have to fix this. I read a lot about users who crashed their drone in-flight due to this issue. This is not your typical performance. You are better than this.. |
