Working with LUT free in post production




2018 SkyPixel Aerial Photo & Video Contest
Working with a color mask your LUT (Look Up Table / cinematographic color correction)

to try to get better in my work, I introduced the use of LUTs during the post production process

This particular color filter helps me a lot when I need to make the video more homogeneous ... linear , linked ...

especially when I have video shot with different lighting conditions ... maybe on different days ... as it happens during my holidays ...

luckely here in Rome, where I am spending this period, the weather is still temperate ... so we can surf

but often, during the holidays, happen to shoot  in different days ... different lights
and then during the post-production step the LUT help me a lot

obviously ... it's convenient to set the camera in
D-Cinelike
video size 4K
white balance Sunny or Auto
Style Custom -2 -2 -2
EV -0.3
and it's my opinion ...
HISTOGRAM ... one of  most important things
overexposed on
Grid on ( can help to better organise your frame )

my suggestion is ... make a plan before to take off
think about what you would like to shoot
check your drone and the area where you are going to fly
BTW ... my pdf file still free to share ... ( save drone ,  check list )   

And then enjoy your time

what program did you use for editing? are the settings of the Mavic Air?

surely it's a little off-topic ... I know
but after so many months of work ... I really needed a little bit of relaxation ... on the sea ... with my friends and my new traveling companion ... DJI Mavic Air ...
yes ... you're right in this too ... the setting is for a Mavic Air (how did you guess?)

to edit the video, use final cut ...
but very often, on the road, I use LumaFusion
this application for devices is brilliant
easy to use, very advanced ... and in addition I can apply the same LUT that I use with FinalCut ...

wowww ... LumaFusion it is my favorite mobile app
yes of course ... you can use LUT for color grade correction directly on Lumafusion ...
honestly I'm very happy with your question, because usually when I'm traveling or whenever I'm in need to edit my clips directly on the place ... I use LF on my Ipad for do it ... easy
the same ipad that I use on the Radio Control ...
download clips from the drone , move it on LumaFusion and than you can use your LUT ... to color grade correction
BTW in shortly I will add some links where is possible to free download these LUT ... what do you think about ?
it's not a really christmas gift ... I know ... it's only a suggestion , TIP for all of you  that love use this App , like you and me

Nicely done!  Some really great edits in there.  Speed Ramping looks really good and overlay of ocean sound waves was a nice touch as well.  Quality video....you certainly put some time into this one.  Excellent job!  You really got some good distance on quite a few of those Mavic Air shots (at first I was thinking perhaps it was the Phamtom you were flying).   

Very cool video.

in reality this video was shot with a Mavic Air during different days.
to be honest, I was very lucky in some of these clips ... in others instead, I filmed what I had imagined ... and so I was even luckier ...
I can not always bring home exactly that I wanted ... sometimes it's the weather (light, wind, rain) sometimes the batteries (they end when the best shot starts)
sometimes I just can not ...

great luck, was shot all in a few days in a row ... in different places, each of them very important for me ...

but anyway, the Mavic was fantastic
he allowed me to shoot this video that everyone really likes ...
and this is very satisfying for me.

now I'm traveling again ... to back at office ,
but will be impossible for me to forget this short and splendit time

Is it same IPad that you use on RC ?
Do you mean that are you using iPad on RC to pilot an Mavic Air ?
