Are their two controller firmware V1.0.2.30 versions? The one on their website has a date of 11/4/14. When I received my controller on 10/31/14 it already had V1.0.2.30 but I doubt they shipped it with a future dated firmware. Are they the same, what's different?

They are the same.
This was released to enable all those who "downgraded" the new controller firmware to reload the correct firmware it was shipped with.
