so my first attempt at this post failed because of my images.  let's try this again.

I finally got my device to update to the latest firmware after it always stalling at 52%.  What i did was risky and you could end up bricking your device so I definitely don't recommend doing this.

Anwyays, what i think happens during the firmware update is the first 50% of the update it transfers the firmware over to the device.  after it reaches 50% the device then runs the update.  So what I did was after it hit 50% maybe 51% i pulled the device from my iPhone X. (GASP)

DO NOT TURN OFF THE DEVICE.  

I was a little worried that i could brick it but what ended up happening was the device showed an update screen a few seconds after disconnecting it.





When it got to 100%, I checked my device info (noticed that there was no typo anymore) and this time...



I hope this helps anyone.  I'm just glad I don't have to return it.

Successful update but the record button doesn't work on the osmo pocket...how do I fix that? I just got it today but haven't been able to even use it...it automatically updated firmware but the only way I can take pictures or videos is with my phone connected. Please Help DJI!!!

Where did story mode go? I can't seem to enter story mode as in the instructions video. Its simply isn't there anymore. Please advice.

my osmo stopped working after a few hours of use and it no longer lights up

I am also having the firmware update error same as a few of you here have. I hope I can get an answer.

I tried to uninstall then reinstalled the app. I have also bought a new micro SD and formatted it.

I have contacted the DJI Support youtube channel but never heard from them. (although they replied to my comment and asked for a screenshot of the error. I already provided them with it but still no answer)

This is my first time buying a DJI product. I hope there is someone who can help me.

Come on DJI. WTH? Can't even get this firmware to update. Stuck at 52% like others. Are we going to have another Phantom 4 firmware debacle all over again?! I just tried some of the solutions for some other users and those haven't worked for me.

Ok so I can confirm that this technique works somehow....

I tried this a few times and what i did was wait till 50% when the process really slows down, then I unplugged the device from the phone (without turning anything off) and then kept it unplugged until the phone gave me the notification that the device isn't plugged in, then I plugged it back in and then it proceeded to do the update.

Turn on flight mode on the iOS device then try and reconnect.
Known issue causing disconnects.

I chat with DJI Chat support agent and my firmware update problem was forwarded to the Engineering department. Is it really hard to update firmware with DJI Osmo pocket? I have tried the suggestions posted here so far  it didn't solve the problem. But I will keep trying.

I‘ve tested it in flight mode. Unfortunatelly Osmo Pocket doesn‘t connect. I even don‘t hear the „connecting-sound“ of the iPhone when I connect the devices.

Seems to work pretty good. I didn't have any issues updating. I did update through the Mimo App.

Why is there no PAL framerates in this product?
It makes it useless in all PAL countries, especially for users who want to cut it with other cameras.

Please add that to the next update.

Doesn't your edit timeline take multiple frame rate sources?

I shoot at 4k 30p on the Osmo and pull it into a 24p timeline. I don't see any issues?

Second that! What camera product ignores frame rates like that? Especially that there's no way to select 25fps on device

2. 24p is 23.976 in NTSC and its a 4/5th of 30fps, which is actually 29.97fps. Getting from one to the other is possible with telecine pulldown or in other words, mix-matching integer number of frames.
PAL 25fps is 25.000fps, which is not a rational fraction of 29.97fps

Personally I throw it onto a 24p timeline and it seems to be ok with mixed sources. If I was editing only the OP footage I'd work in the native timecode anyway and then export it as whatever I wanted.

You are missing, or ignoring that:
1) it's your choice to work at 24p and this post is about people, like me, working at 25p, because they work, like me, on PAL standard.
2) your opinion that "not ideal but works" is not shared by all, especially for me "not ideal" is more like "looks crap and I can't accept it in my output".

It’s not in the app. Was removed before release. Only beta testers have Story mode - also same as colour profiles. Those are due in a future release. As to when... well.. welcome to DJI!

the SD card is new and works ok to record videos with the osmo pocket. And I can format the card. It has 59Gb free space.
