It’s not in the app. Was removed before release. Only beta testers have Story mode - also same as colour profiles. Those are due in a future release. As to when... well.. welcome to DJI!

Firmware update fail at 53% everytime.
the SD card is new and works ok to record videos with the osmo pocket. And I can format the card. It has 59Gb free space.
after failed update, in the SD card there is a hidden folder /MISC/LOG with a txt log with some information:

Why does not osmo pocket have a story mode?

so my first attempt at this post failed because of my images.  let's try this again.

I finally got my device to update to the latest firmware after it always stalling at 52%.  What i did was risky and you could end up bricking your device so I definitely don't recommend doing this.

I couldn't update past the 53%.. but I was finally able to update the firmware successfully but using a HUAWEI P20 instead of my Oneplus 6. Very strange. I was going to send the unit back but decided to give it a try with another phone(not my phone) And it worked! Now I don't know if there is an issue in the Osmo Pocket or not, because Tech Support by email told me that I would have to send back the Osmo Pocket. But it works great now.

Hi when i connect to my android phone i dont get a warning "new firmware is available" .  Its running on original version. The device and phone properly connected because "photo mode"and others is working

Yep same thing here, did you ever get this resolved ? I’m still running Ver 1.02 and seem to be stuck with it although having read all the problems some people are having post upgrade may be it’s not a bad thing.

Okay, after numerous attempts to update my fw, trying different SD cards, reformatting, resetting the device, uninstalling/reinstalling app, trying on both iOS and Android, all with no luck, including trying the previously mentioned "unplugging the Pocket when the the update hits 50%".

I noticed my Pocket getting kinda warm, so I decided to do something that I've done before with another unrelated device that I needed to do a fw update on. I switched off my Pocket and put it in the fridge for 20 minutes .. yes, in the fridge!! I took it out, switched it on, reset (again), inserted and formatted the card (again), then connected to my phone and went through the update process, this time without a hitch! There's still a slow down at 50% but it then jumped to 69% and gradually moved up to 100% within about 3 minutes.

Now, this is what I did and I cannot guarantee that it'll work for anyone else! I wish you all the best of luck..

They put it only in Apple app!!!!

Same here did all the same steps you did, still get the "Update Failed" message while trying to install it.
Also get a Format Failed message when trying to format the SD card, even though it shows it is installed with 201gb available.

I had all sorts of problems with a slow memory card from upgrading to recording. Once I purchased Sandisk 128gb extreme plus card all these problems went away. I believe all these issues were happing because of slow read write speeds on memory cards.

This product is a joke, here's why:

1. It fails to ask/let you upgrade firmware if you miss the first request to do so, meanwhiie it asks you to download the MiMO app in a nagging instructional video from inside the MiMO app every single time you start MiMO, Inception anyone?

2. All its limitations are plain software - so called software crippling of a capable device. It's marketed as tiny as thats the whole purpose, not having to use something big like a gimble or a phone, yet it forces you to use a phone if you want to change iso, shutter and fps to 24p, simple functions the device would be fully capable of changing on the eevice itself without a phone if put into the device menus, it's a 50 line command-set that takes one day to build a menu for.

3. Same with facetracking / activetrack, the device's internal processing is fully capable of doing tracking at 4K, stop limiting this device artificially or hire developers that actually develop and does the work this device deserves.

For unknown reason, I had a problem updating the DJI Osmo pocket and so we documented our process and created a video. This is risky so anyone who wants to try, may do so in their own risk. But hopefully, DJI will solve this problem in behalf of all others who always encounter a problem when updating the firmware.
