I just tried the following:
Turn on the osmo first THEN plug in the phone, then open the app. If you have the app already open when you power up the Osmo it wont work.

Here's what does work. There is a small lag with the screen to device but it's negligable.


OP connected to USB-C via USB-C to lighting cable into iphone - connects and can open the Mimo app and control the camera as if it was connected.

OP connected to USB-C via USB-C to USB-C ipad pro (2018 version) works in the Mimo app but app isn't designed for ipad so have to run it in a 'window'


I dont know how long you could run the cable for - but it might be a good solution for someone doing time lapse or having the gimbal on the end of a small jib etc and want to locate the screen away from the Osmo Pocket.
