At least it's not (hopefully) fodder for more FAA restrictions.  But does show a 3 pound piece of plastic can cause damage to a landing aircraft at 150-200 mph.

Please, yet another claim of hitting a drone with no actual proof. Where is the forensic evidence that is was a drone. Aircraft radomes are quite fragile, im[pacts with birds often cause this level of damage.

It says " the aircraft may have hit a drone"... I saw this yesterday.  Where is the confirmation?  

We're all rightfully skeptical of these reports.  Remember, a few birds brought down a flight into the Hudson river.  The point of the post was mostly another article that taints public opinion, whether a drone or not.

     To add another dimension to the brew here, the video is from RT News.  RT used to be called Russian Television, the official station of the Russian Government.  It is an official outlet of Russian propaganda.  

     Regarding the damage, it may have been a drone, but is would most likely be an official border drone flown by an inexperienced operator.  No telling which government but the plane was flying right over the border and where there has been a lot of activity in recent days.

     Just sayin.

Actually the Russian Propaganda channel is now Ch 1 in Russia, RT is old hat .. Putin has clamped down on the TV channels and they ALL are monitored.

As regards the Radomes ... many are GRP with a spiders web construction inside to provide rib support, and skin form is honeycomb to make it light but strong. It actually takes quite a whack to break or damage. Given the price and importance of the gear protected by it !

You can see crash site photos and radomes are often surprisingly limited in damage.
