Hi, we're sorry for the inconvenience caused. In most cases, customers are talking about volume deformation, instead of distortion. For details about volume deformation, visit http://www.dxo.com/us/photograph ... volume-deformation. Volume deformation (or anamorphosis) is caused by the way wide-angle lenses capture object volumes, particularly when the subjects appear along the edges of the image. This case will not occur when capturing two-dimension objects with their front sides facing the lens. But it happens when capturing three-dimension objects. Distortion is usually caused by lenses with short focal lengths and mostly affects straight lines. It is not possible to correct deformation and distortion at the same time. The Phantom 4 Pro lens corrects distortion automatically, so it does not process deformation. Optical distortion can be found in the Phantom 4 Pro lens. Compared with the Phantom 4, the Phantom 4 Pro’s sensor is large, which requires a large lens. However, the aircraft’s weight and lens’ size are limited. With certain distortion, lights can be reflected in the imaging area. This does not require a large lens while maintains an appropriate resolution. This method is widely applied in Japan and Germany. DJI works with a world-leading supplier to customize a compact lens with high resolution for the Phantom 4 Pro. |
