30/60 fps? I'm in Europe, we are on 25/50fps!

I know that 25/50fps is possible in Pro mode, but the camera drops out Pro mode with each switch between photo and video mode. So anyway it's not a hardware limitation, but a software switch.
All video equipment runs at 25fps in Europe. Why can't I set it in the settings, that I'm in PAL region and have default frame rates in standard mode at 25/50fps?

I can choose multiple frame-rates on my Osmo Pocket. Tried to change this via the MIMO app? I bought it in The Netherlands.
EDIT: sorry, didn't read your question correctly.. Default framerate based on selected country would be a nice feature.

Can I ask why you need 25/50? Do you need to transmit your footage on TV? Otherwise, stick with 30/60 for a smooth experience on computer/web.

1. I cut footage from several sources, on common timeline and produce for local market output, and Europe is at 25fps. I'm not going to switch the workflow because DJI released a buggy camera.
2. The equipment I possess runs all at 25fps (or multiple thereof) and even if I considered this toy of a camera important enough to switch over, half of the professional gear is older type and does not allow for 30fps (short: video camera tax thing leading to market segmentation).
3. The grid in EU runs at 50Hz, so at 30fps flicker is an issue, especially in low, artificial lighting
4. PAL 25fps framerate is, for **** sake, a standard in almost all the world outside USA. I find it utterly absurd that a video product marketed in EU does not adhere to local standards.

best regards

Thanks for the answer, I was just curious. The #3 is my only real issue, I can live with other points but I understand it's just different needs.

I am totally agree, I mix several footage and because I'm in Europe I need to shoot at 25 or 50. DJI did this selection on Mavics so why not on osmo? Not a hard problem, it can possible to select 25 or 50 in mimo app. So, Dji please make a firmware with possibility to set 25 or 50 without phone.
Thanks.

Is 25/50 really a pro feature?
I remember the pocket asking me weather I want to shot in 50 or 60 after activating.
24fps sure is a pro feature but the 50/60 25/30 can be adjusted in the pocket settings. Pretty sure.
When I'm at home in the evening, I will search for the option and reply.

Yes, it is in the current FW/App.
Did you perchance have a pre-release device?
Mine is a production unit and it did not ask such a question upon activation nor does it offer a choice in the options, I looked through every nook and cranny of the menus...

I hope ! thats all I can do. DJI is a big company and they sell stuff to the EU therefore PAL should be standard and easy to switch on the device!

That is not the case in my Version. If I switch to 50hz in the Mimo app (and it is not under the pro feature list) and disconnect the Pocket, it stays at 50hz!

You are talking about the flicker suppression not about the framerate.

No problem, it is confusing to me why they'd provide a manual setting for flicker, but not for PAL/NTSC. Flicker can be set based purely on connected phone location - it's country wide and doesn't change, while video system depends on your target audience and can be arbitrary to the location...

+ 1: This point is very important as we can mix osmo pocket rushes with other from differents sources working in 25 fps. Please DJI change this situation urgently!

Pleasesee add the possibility of setting pal registration in the new firmware otherwise it is a real problem. I would like to buy it but having to use it in pro mode with the smartphone is too inconvenient.

Hi there, you may check the FAQ here: https://forum.dji.com/thread-175216-1-1.html

Q: How do I change recording frame rate of Osmo Pocket to 24/25/48/50?
A: When Osmo Pocket is connected to your phone, you can switch on the Pro Mode via Mimo app, then change the recording frame rate. Starting from January, we plan to progressively release firmware updates to bring these frame rate settings to the built-in screen of the Osmo Pocket.

Converting 50 fps to 25fps is generally non issue, even dumb software can do it right and you can always easily output to 50i of necessary. Downside is that you need twice the light to get same quality video, as the shutter speed at 50 fps can't drop below about 1/60...1/100s.
Converting to 24fps will introduce some artifacts.

Not really, in EU lights will flickr when using different frame rates. So it is unusable in any scenario with lights on it. In daylight it shouldn't be a problem, not even on TV.

What?? No 25 fps. Seriously DJI?  I just purchased the Osmo Mobile 3. I purchased it to use it together with other camera sources for a video commercial. All equipment runs at 25p as I am in Europe. I don't believe you have omitted this. I would purchase the Filmic Pro app, but they haven't released an update compatible with Osmo Mobile 3.

Please fix this. You are selling to European customers, this is unusable to me and I am considering returning it.  Its been so long after this thread was opened. What are you waiting for? The new update does not have 25fps. Why not?

How on earth is this possible??!! I bump into posts from as early as 2016 where DJi Osmo users ask for the 25 fps setting. Indeed the standard framerate in Europe...

It's November 2020 and I just bought a new Osmo Mobile 3 gimbal and what seems the problem? I still have no 25 fps setting. As a consequence the existing frame rate interferes with the light from the softbox - both LED and spiral (flickering)

Hello Frank! (Frank W, CEO DJi), your gimbal works like a charm but you really need to fix this now, appwise through MiMo preferably!!!

Anyone else know how to fix this? I read about some sort of pro setting? Cant find it, but please let me know, pro 'something' all fine with me!
