I keep forgetting to remove the gimbal cover at times. Am I causing damage to the gimbal or gimbal motors?

Hello and good day  Winston1 Thank you for bringing this query to us. A gimbal error may occur if the gimbal's motion is obstructed. Just to make it sure, we strongly suggest removing the gimbal cover from the DJI Mavic 2 Pro's camera before turning ON. Have a safe and happy flight always. Happy holidays.

Maybe attach a ribbon like this one to your gimbal lock so you don't forget to remove it:

I use a long piece of red tape going from the Gimbal cover to the power button , but you could just put a piece of tape over the power button as a reminder.

Or use some thing like the DJI Preflight Check List!   Good habit to get into!

I just try to always don’t forget to remote it!

If i take it out of the case for any reason the first thing i do is remove the cover!!

I am trying to get in that habit as I did today, three times, when copying files from the drone to computer.  

But it is hard - old habits, protect the lens at any cost, die hard.  And now throw in a jiggling gimbal and I really want to protect it.

But don’t worry nothing will happen to it due to its rapid movements, it was designed that way

You got the mavic 2 zoom, nice!
I think it’s the better one of the 2 mavic 2s.
I am really starting to think to maybe sell my spark and my mavic pro and buy the Mavic 2 zoom,
But I just love the solid connection that I get in ocusync (especially in boost 1.5 watt mode on my mavic pro 1
I just doubt that it’s that good on the mavic 2...?

Now if only I could find some place interesting to fly (not that I'm very good at controlling it!) and the weather would cooperate.  My 5,000 square foot lot (which includes a 2 1/2 story home) is really constraining.  Luckily the house hugs one property line leaving some yard space although that's constrained by fruit trees! (g)

I did try a hyperlapse but I think it runs about 7 seconds and shows some tree branches barely twitching! (g)
