Sharing this photo for anyone dumb like me that didn't realize the slot in the storage case was so that you can store with the smartphone adapter attached!

The annoying things is, that you can't store the Pocket with the adapter connected in the opposite way...
why?

why not? simply turn the adaptor

I have to push the Osmo hard into the case to get it to fit with the adapter turned around. I feel like it's pushing/bending it. :/

I have no problem storing mine with the adapter in the opposite way...

This! But I use USB C. Don´t know if there is a difference in hight?!?

I broke my phone adapter for my iPhone, where can I get a new one?

+2 - I'm on iOS/lightning too though. I get the feeling DJI make their devices mainly for Apple!

What exactly are you doing?  putting the gimbal away upside down?

Is it really technically okay to keep the Osmo Pocket with the adapter attached, or do I need to remove it every time I am done with it?

Absolutely not, it is meant for that

By the way, I use this to store it with the port sticking out, just for added protection:

I like the little cap! just incase it helps.. Mine will fall into the case via gravity with the connector facing in.. Again... if yours is taking pressure to make this happen I would check to see that the sides of the case are parallel and you don't have a warped case

Mine fits like a glove, no warping. the little cap offers some additional peace of mind although it is obvious I will loose it sooner or later ;)
