Who are these people?
How can anyone derive pleasure from disrupting the public with a lunatic stunt like this?
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-46623754

I hope they get reported and punished.

I'm sure the UK drone enthusiast will suffer for the because of these two idiots. If they catch them they could go to jail.

This is an international Airport, I expect repercussions in a lot more places than UK.

Depend upon whether Government buruecrats see this as prime opportunity to garner support from public, to foist even more restrictive drone laws on little people.

More Fear, More Sheep, More Shepards, More Control, More Power.

Industrial and consumer drones truly are a fascinating and wonderful thing for all of society...They are...It is beyond comparison to the invention of the automobile, and even the airplane, in that it kinda rolls them both into one package.

..................And fersure the development of drone tech is RACING at supersonic speeds compared to either the car or the plane.  Yaknow?...So of course society will continue to react with new laws and regulations related to drones....Just like with cars and planes.

DJI saw this coming years ago and they incorporated NFZ's into their software....The FAA created AIRMAP, and many cities and federal/local parks enacted new laws restricting drone use, and the courts are filled with cases concerning privacy and damage claims involving drones....LOL, seems it will never end, huh?

Yup.....So how about all of us here?...How does all this effect us?....Well, kinda differently because we are all located differently and subjected to different laws and restrictions, AND for each of us those laws and restrictions are moving at different speeds and in different directions.

AS with any and all tech, drones will increasingly be used to commit crimes and terrorism...Count on it....Trust me, the events are just now beginning.

That is what I read too.  Also read there was more than one UFO (supposed drones of different types).

Which could point to an organized effort to shutdown airport.  Being supposed drone(s) disappear for a while, and as soon as authorities start to open up airport, here comes the UFO(s).

Or age-old mass hysteria where a Bird is a drone, search helicopter is a drone, a wind blown plastic grocery bag is a drone...

This is a prime example of some f'ing idiot ruining it for the rest of us!

Sorry, but what this pilot did was COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE, and according to DronDJ, DJI is now assisting with the law enforcement efforts at Gatwick, and I honestly hope they catch these arsehats and throw the book at them!

I also hope ATC's will start installing DJI Aeroscopes in and around their aerodromes to help prevent, or minimize, this sort of occurrence from happening again.

This is also why I'm passionate against pilots who flaunt NFZ's and aerodromes with their idiotic stunts, which can cause situations like these... I say, toughen the laws and throw the book at pilots pulling stunts like these... I rather err on the side of public safely and caution rather than allowing idiots to endanger the public with their stunts.

They’re saying now that there was 4 drones used , they suspect it may be ECO Warriors.

They’re saying now that there was 4 drones used , they suspect it may be ECO Warriors.

This morning I heard some company that produces drone killers (via electromagnetic pulse)
They claimed they could control 99% of all drones out here.
But the more he talked, the more it sounded like he might have a motiv for this attack.....

Any sort of EMP weapon is not a clever idea for either Heathrow or Gatwick.    There is far to much stuff in and round an airport to start firing off those sort of things.

Also they would be reasonably easy for a drone to defeat.  OR at least be designed to defeat.

Any terrorist would also take it into account and plan to negate the use of the weapon. EG as with Judo that uses an opponents weight against them,

What a surprise Mr I Don’t Give A Hoot about the rules comes out and starts acting like a petulant child throwing insults at what has become a serious topic.

Consider yourself reported.
