This happened on the last day of a 3-week trip to Australia.  Captured some great footage during my trip but this one got me for sure.  I watched it happen from close by and was impressed by the drones ability to recover.  After landing and restarting I got a critical error on screen.  Sent it in to DJI and they gave me the option of a repair for $87 or new drone under my DJI refresh for $119.  Went with the new drone and should have it in a week. Really glad I opted to buy the DJI Refresh as I'm a new pilot in case you did not guess.

If you keep flying that low then maybe dli can make a wiper blade option for the camera. Good save by the drone

Yes, sometimes you are unaware of the danger that lies ahead....

Had to watch it again this morning.  

A bit different take on complaints about ‘choppy’ video. Glad you have care refresh.

No sure what the error message could have been for. After all it was just a decent splash!  Should have calibrated a couple things yourself before sending it in. Surely such a splash would not result in much of an issue.

That was something very impressive.

Salt water is highly corrosive - getting into the gimbal area and air intake ports could be an issue. Also might have entered the motor/prop areas?

i would have chickened out after the big wave - well done.
