I noticed that some people have names for their drones.

They are like pets and so we get fond of them and give them a suitable name such as my late Cocker Spaniel. He was black, Australian and he smelled like a wet rag, but eveybody loved him so I named him 'Vegemite'

I named my Mavic Pro 'ET' because he always wanted to phone home.

So I am curious if anybody else has named their drone, and why?

I anticipate a few good stories here!

So did you ever ask her why? Enquiring minds need to know

LA LA has been hanging around for years, was on a 4 hour flight and this young kid, 4 or 5 year old girl was saying LA LA over and over the whole flight , drove me nuts, think it just stuck and was the first thing that popped into her head, as for DA DA think it just rhymed

For me, yes. I've always had my drones as women, although I've noticed a few on here have male drones.

I wonder if it is a nationality thing?

I just call mine 'the bird'

Enduro is my mavic pro and Sparky2 is my spark name.
The spark that I lost was called popo-Spark (by the previous owner) and I didn’t even get the chance to rename it to Sparky

Back when I got my Mavic Pro and was doing the activation and FAA registration, I was asked for a name, couldn't think of anything cool sounding. Someone was having a discussion in the background and one of the participants said they'd do that 'when pigs fly', bam it hit me. The MP was named Pig, because pigs do fly! As I increased the fleet, I kept with the whole pig theme. MP = Pig; P4P = Bacon; MA = Porkchop; Spark = Piglett; Tello = Hamlet; M2P = Porky and last, M2P full spectrum converted = Piggy.

Excellent suggestions! Sometime in the next couple of months I plan to get a Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual, I think Wild Boar would be perfect.

Other places ask about a "Nick" for the drone as well.  I have not given one to mine as yet.

Sorry for the quadruple post. Seems my PC is hungover from New Years celebrations.

i don't see the point in naming it but my friends have tried to give them names but the best one was for my DJI Mavic Air Flame Red and it was ' my blood ' , on of my friends that is a girl named it that, meaning ' my friend ' and her period.

Thanks for all the (mostly) great input people.

Kids just presented me with Mavic 2 Zoom for Christmas - thinking about naming it 'New Horizons' after NASA's recent spectacular feat but 'Chang'e-4' could also be appropriate if it makes it down safely to the far side of the moon.

OTOH why not just call it   "pink floyd" as they got there first and it's also one of my favourite albums (but noway am I planning to paint it pink)
