Yes, I only use 25fps with low light.
Otherwise the shutterspeed needs to be too high.
There is a tradeoff in all situations, but I'd rather have some noise and still a sharp and interesting frame than noise free, but most black.
You make a fair point regarding noise - it's better to get the shot and have it be noisy than not to get the shot at all!
The lowest I ever go in terms of framerate is 30fps. I know 24 or 25 is supposed to better than 30fps, and it looks fine in everyone else's videos, but when I'm editing and reviewing footage I I like having those extra frames to work with. However, it's definitely worth considering changing on that for me to get a few more stops of brightness in dim conditions. |
