Just wondering if any of you get better range with 2.4 vs 5   With you spark ? I have been using 5 and flys about 1 1/2 miles out over the ocean.
Can you change it in settings in the DJI go4 app ? I live in the USA. Thanks.

2,4ghz i get less as most devices use 2.4ghz so alot of lag and interference usually

5.8ghz is less common so its better for me but its not good at flying behind objects

Mine defaulted to 5.8 witch i am glad cause there are lot of things 2.4 around here and i feel 5.8 is lot better. seems like all of the serious FPV pilots are using 5.8 these days.

I think you can change it but not sure how

Thanks epowerdrc. I agree. I’m not sure if there is a way to change it with the updated app but I’ll see today and report back. Thanks again for your input.

In  FCC, the 5.8 has even a higher output, as the 2.4 band!

2.4 GHz
FCC: 25 dBm; CE: 18 dBm; SRRC: 18 dBm; MIC:18 dBm
5.8 GHz
FCC: 27 dBm; CE: 14 dBm; SRRC: 27 dBm; MIC: -

And to me, it looks pretty even.
Mostly my bird choses 5.8.
But every now and then, it tries 2.4
And just under 2 miles in both is more as ok, isn't it?

Thanks seven. Yes, that  is plenty feet/meters. Mine defaults to 5.8 most of the time also. Thanks for the info.

What I found out today:
I can not change to 2.4 network in settings before take off or anytime
I can not change the channel of the 5 MHz while in flight.
The best channel to use is the highest 5 MHz network channel for the best distance.

I’m flying in airplane mode on my iPad min 4.  I am using the latest firmware on spark and controller.
Also using the otg cable.
How do you change to the 2.4 ? In settings before take off I click on the WiFi icon then I see channel and when I click on 5 MHz nothing happens. Can’t change it anywhere.
Maybe the newest update does not allow you to change it manually ? But only changes  automatically to 2.8 if it does NOT pick up a lot of  interference  On the 2.8 network ?

I found how to change it. I’ll try it when weather gets better.
I am happy with the 5.8 range for now if using the top channel.

lol are u pressing the graph?
the numbers down are the selecter and u will see the 2.4ghz icon rather then 5ghz

Yup, I have one. I also use one on my p3p. I always use it on p3p and makes a huge difference but I haven’t noticed much with the spark.

Yes, I understand that. The 2 I have are designed for each drone I have but the one of the Spark doesn’t go up all the way even though it’s made for the spark. There are different models.
