It's been a month using the pocket and I enjoy every moment using it.
Seems its convenience makes me shooting more footages than any other camera that I had.

This time I went out to take a 4K time-lapse with pocket and like to share a result.

----------note----------
Pocket only support time-lapse upto 1080P at the moment.
So I used a pro mode - saving jpg image option to get high-res (4000x2250) image sequence.
(Being able to shoot in DNG would be a nice update dji )

4KTL001.JPG 4KTL002.JPG
Pro mode ll iso 100 ll 1" exposure ll 3s interval
Normal time-lapse gives a farely sharp image at night.

4KTL003.JPG 4KTL004.JPG
Pro mode ll iso 100 ll 2" exposure ll 5s interval
Motion time-lapse gives a very out of focus image at night.
You have a same out of focus result with AFC or AFS.
Hope they fix this soon cus otherwise pocket is joy to shoot a time-lapse.

4KTL006.JPG 4KTL007.JPG
Pro mode ll iso 100 ll 1/1.25 ll 3s interval
I think its just wide enough for landscape.

I was not a fan of time-lapse during the cold winter.
But pocket makes it so convenient that I can shoot while strolling around.

Nice work What software do you use to make the timelapse with the photos?
Is it DJI Media maker?

I haven't tried dji media maker but most of the editing softwares are able to import sequence of images as a video file. You need to import the first image of the sequence with sequence import option on. Then usually it imports all the images in the same folder with sequenced file name. I use premier.

No only upto 1080P in video but as I notied on the post I used pro mode jpg picture option to make 4K video out of time-lapse (or motion lapse) images from the pocket.

Very nice time-lapse done with the OP! I'm eager to give it a go soon, just need the lousy weather to improve though.

Hi Tide, nice work! Thanks for sharing.

Hey Paladin, will the Osmo Pocket be able to ever shoot 4K motion lapse through firmware updates in the future?

May be that lousy weather is the opportunity to the unique shot.

Good point there. Just need to protect the OP from the rain though.

Cus the jpg image resolution is bigger than 4K, you have about 5% of image size to zoom in without losing the native 4K resolution. Just add zoom in or out effect in the editing.

Nice job! I noticed a bit of shaking on the motion shots, have you tried software stabilisation in post? I used to have the same issue with my MOZA Aircross, FCPX does an amazing job at smoothing it out.

To be honest, I think you could even zoom to around 30% and it would still look great. I shoot at 2.7k all the time on my Mavic Pro as there’s less compression flickering and it takes less room on my SD card, and I can barely see the difference unless I zoom right in.

I do use warp stabilizer on other videos but not on the motion-lapse shots on this video.
I just want to show how pocket sometimes make jagged gimbal movement on motion-lapse.

Yes you are right and if uploading to the youtube's heavily compressed 4K, even 50% is not noticable.
I hope pocket also had 2.7k option.

Hi @Tide, so for the motion lapse, you took pictures using the Osmo Pocket then stitch them together? Or you extracted photos from the Motionlapse video? Thanks!

1 - select time-lapse mode first
2 - select pro mode
3 - in one of the pro mode menu, you will see the option to save jpg images along with time-lapse video
4 - shoot the time-lapse or motion-lapse video
5 - you will find a sequence image folder in pocket's time-lapse folder.

Cool. I’ve not tried any time lapse yet. Be interesting to see how much difference stabilising in post makes. Thx.

Cant see why this isn't possible out of the box, unless this is a ploy by DJI to offer Pocket 3 with that functionality! - Maybe there enough is users to petition this is fuctionality is made available in software/firmware update to the pocket 2?
