Rookie question: where do you guys go to look for drone jobs? My understanding is that there is plenty of need (surveying, etc.), but I haven't seen any posting in local classifieds...

To be honest there aren't a lot. Tell your friend to create a market where there isn't one.

Survey companies look for establish drone company. I'm speaking as a 107 pilot.

If you have a 107 licence (CASA accreditation in Australia) and insurance then drop your card off at local real estate agents.
Have some samples of your work available to demonstrate your skills and also you should have back up machines as they pay for results, not excuses.
It's boring work, you are at the mercy of the weather, NFZ's and flight clearances (make this clear to them) l but it pays nicely

Maybe...or ask some freinds if you can work for them or do a post that you need a job that  Involves drone work.

I did post in NextDoor (community app in US). Zero hits in 10 days.
Maybe need to try Craigslist.

You're too kind. I need to try myself first Simply testing the waters for now..

So far I have only tried to volunteer for the fireworks during the dry period last summer, but they were not interested.
