The Crimean Astrophysical Observatory in the town of Nauchnyy has 17 optical telescopes (including the second largest optical telescope in Russia — the 2.6 m telescope named after academician GAShain, the first in Europe and to date the only operating gamma telescope the second generation is equipped with a photopolarimeter, a unique complex of solar telescopes).

Very nice effects in the videos and observatories are also a passion of mine. I have one in my backyard and enjoy astrophotography as my avatar indicates. I bet they have some truly dark skies there.

You're right - this is really a fantastic object.
A small town, completely built for astrophysics. At the top of the mountain (about 600 meters above sea level) there are several telescopes. All other buildings - on the mountain slopes, so as not to interfere with the observation of the stars. All street lamps in the city have severe restrictions - lamps of low brightness are additionally covered with special covers. The city has all the infrastructure for technical support of telescopes - a mirror coating workshop, a staff of technicians and a hotel for scientists.
I visited this place by chance and was amazed...

My  Mavik allows even a little bit better - here the picture has 4 times less resolution than I received from Mavik. In the original, there were 20х10k pixels (200Mp). SkyPixel takes only 10 x 5 kp (50Mp) so I had to reduce...

What a nice idea and its realization! And the scenery is amazing. Hope you'll do more such stuff Mmm, observatory. I've always wanted to visit it to observe far planets, to catch comets like Shoemaker-Levy 9 https://solarstory.net/comets/shoemaker-levy-9 which fell in Jupiter, to see galaxies. You are lucky you are close to it. Maybe it's not that hard to visit it for you. So, I'm double envy

This unique city is not very close to me. About a day's journey by car. But I managed to go there for the Christmas holidays. I got a lot of fun, you're right!

if you want to fly there, carefully study the map. Large hotels, parks at the palaces of the Resk kings - you should not fly there. Everything else - nature, mountains, the sea - take off carefully away from prying eyes. And there will be no problems. there problems arise only from the flow of advice from the audience
