Hi Guys

I've seen this topic in some of the other threads but haven't seen any fixes

I recorded 17min 6sec of 4K/60 video with my Mavic air

I ended up with 4 files as follows:

4min 52sec file = 3.52gb
4min 51sec file = 3.50gb
4min 50sec file = 3.50gb
2min 33sec file = 1.85gb

I'm using a 64gb Samsung Ultra 100mbps Micro SD card and formatted the card through the GO 4 app using the exFat file system

File index mode in camera settings is set to continuous

I want to be able to record in 4K/60 for as long as my storage capacity on my SD card will allow and to just 1 large file not multiple 4gb files

I know I can reduce the res and fps and I will get longer files because it'll take longer to reach the 3.50gb limit but don't see why I should have to do that  - I want max res for max time - I spent a lot of money on this (like all of us) so I'd like to get my money's worth

Can anyone please let me know if there is a fix for this or a workaround - I'd be very grateful for any fix at all

Thank you in advance

Sorry but you never get a bigger file than 4 GB out of your Mavic SD card. You see that limitation on almost all cameras using a SD card.

However, you can merge your 4GB pieces you have to a large file with an external program like VLC, hand brake or video editor.

Regards, Leif.

I have Final Cut Pro for video editing - and I’m just learning that as well - can you use that to merge files together?

Nope - other people have said that format isn't compatible with Mavic - but I haven't confirmed that - have you??

I use Final cut pro, When you stitch the videos together the transition is SEAMLESS, I used to be irritated about  the 4GB file limit, But in reality there are many benefits to this. Huge files are not handled well with video editors for one.

Ok thanks for the tip - I think youre right - it would be easier to edit with smaller files - I'll just do that

Cheers

Hi there, thank you fo reaching out and we're sorry to hear about the trouble, About the file size, unfortunately, that is a normal phenomenon when it comes to the technology of the SD card you can just post-process it and merge all the videos.

smaller file size is better less chance of all your footage getting corrupted and it makes managing videos on editing programs less difficult

Have you try Data recovery Program for SD card? Please don't overwritten the SD card because overwritten data will not recover any program or technique.
