Do you need to calibrate for correct altitude reading?

Had a great first day with my Phantom Vision+.  I do have a question about the Altitude reading in the DJ Vision app (iPhone version).  It appears to not be accurate.  See the attached screenshot from my phone.  For reference, the PHV+ is sitting on the ground, but the Altitude says 56.4Ft.

I only ask, because I could see that impacting the return home feature.

Any input would be great.

Thanks,

Eric

I've noticed the same kind of apparent in
accuracy with my P2V+.  Maybe someone from DJI will comment?

Altitude and distance are measured from the home point, ie when you start the phantom before take-off and after GPS lock is acquired.
If you get a large error then turn off and re-start the phantom.
A few feet either way is acceptable.

50ft out is not to bad, be worried if it shows 600+ or 600- ft is it holding its hight in the air ok ?  as my one was lowering it self down & that was because the high was changing all the time even if the phantom was not moving.
if you are worried about the RTH because your phantoms hight is out just off set it by changing the RTH hight in the app

Please go to the Assistant to re-calibrate the IMU to see if same problem persists. Thanks.

Thanks - I will attempt the IMU re-calibration.  I did that once, but will try again.  Good to know 50 is not bad compared to 600
