Is it legal to fly in Downtown LA ? around the grand whilshire or anywhere ? just curious as i have seen many drone videos with downtown LA. If legal is it okay to fly there ??  and if is it okay to fly like when its a 30mins after sunset ?

The DJI Geo Map, as well as the FAA Facility maps show downtown LA as flyable......no specific restrictions.

Don't forget to look at NOTAMS as well as TFRs for the LA area.  High end dignitaries can cause Temporary Flight Restrictions.

Just got back from flying in Elysian Park, above Dodger Stadium, and there are not any restrictions there.

I would also check with local authorities because I live in NYC and when I look at the DJI Geo-Map and other FAA sites to see if I can fly anywhere in NYC, it shows that I can, but yet I know that ALL of Manhattan is a no fly zone.
