use amazon app store - for DJI apps not shown on amazon then use apkpure.com
I installed DJI Pilot app via apk pure site.

heres an interesting bit of info. the SRC auto shuts off if left on and untouched for long enough. no im not talking the screen goes black. i mean it literally shuts off if not used

How do you install 3rd party apps o the Smart Controller? Any time I try and download an app, everything crashes and I need to start over. Very frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The main issue is that NOT all 3rd party apps will work.  It really is, as you are discovering, trial and error.

You need a place to download apps which are generally  xxxx.apk files.  One source suggested is apkpure.com (I only read about that site recently so don't know its reliability) another is apkmirror.com.   You would download using the Smart Controller's browser or you can download on your computer and then copy to the controller.  Then using the File manager, find that file, tap on it and it will generally offer to install.  But you have apparently done that as you mention "failure."  So, again, trial and error.

If "long enough" > 35 minutes, it doesn't really matter ?
Your Mavic 2 will have landed/crashed by then.

i mean me for like if you set it down to pack away after done flying and by chance forget to shut off the RC cause the screen timed out and is black. while going to your next flying area the RC will have shut off during travel to not kill the battery

yea i was in no way meaning during flight. i should time it and see the time it takes for full untouch shutdown of the RC

Thanks for your response. I will give it a shot. I want to add basic apps so this will be helpful. I will let everyone know if I'm able to accomplish the end goal!

The new Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 features an OcuSync HD transmission system, which supports automatic dual-frequency band switching and connects to DJI Goggles wirelessly mybkexperience.

Installing apps on the controller somehow works, but when starting the apps it just keeps "Loading ...."

On my smart controller I switched the video settings to record in h.265 and accidentally recorded the media to the smart controller. Now I have no way of getting that footage off of the controller. Is there a way to do this?
