Finally we had some snow in the Netherlands, so it's time to shoot some pictures and video of the white landscape.
I decided to head to the Pyramid of Austerlitz which was built in 1804 by Napoleon's soldiers near Utrecht in the Netherlands.
After more than 200 years this pyramid (which primarily is made of sand), still exists and nice seen from the ground but even more by drone high in the air!
I had a frightening moment at the end of my flight, the iPad I used suddenly stopped working due to the cold weather. But I kept line of sight of the drone, so could easily get it back. I learned I could just switch the iPad for my iPhone and all functions were transferred to this device but I tested this only after I safely landed the bird :-)
well it certainly is a site that has an interesting history about it. I see that continues to this day as well.
Interestingly shot Raimond. And of course the obvious question is whether you have the shot during summer?

Not yet, in summer a lot of people visit this site so flying a drone at that moment isn't allowed.
But my goal is to visit the site very early in the morning then so there won't be any tourists there.
