You may only have to upgrade your GPU as I can get by with my i5 4690 but I have a GTX-1080 at my office PC with a 4K monitor so it seems the GPU does help. maybe get a GTX-1060 (which is fairly reasonable now) and see if it helps. Or are you using a laptop? if that's the case, it might be tme for an upgrade.
P.S. what software are you using for playback?
Agreed. I too run a slightly faster i5 processor but with a higher grade video card with 2gig of ram. It's very close to maxing out though but just manages. Editing when re-rendering is painfully slow.
On a separate note, do you mean flicker or stutter? Flicker could be a different problem such as refresh rates on your monitor or the shutter exposure on your video. Stutter can be caused by a processor, graphics card, or slow hard drive speeds. Maybe even a motherboard northbridge bottleneck. |
