Hello people.
I received my Spark on 31st January and I've NEVER used it because here it was windy and rainy for all days.
I've checked everyday UAV Forecast for a good moment to use it and finally, this morning, I got a green message: I can fly!
So, with child at school, I go to let my Spark fly.

Only 10 minutes of flying because it was too windy.
Too sun in my eyes, and I was using sun glasses.

So, next time, I'll use a sun-hat or something like this.

At home however I give a look at footage and ... wow... it is very stable and it seems that there is no wind.I'm impressed by gimball.
I need to know, please, if your first time was not so exciting too. I waited 7 days and I got nothing.

I can't wait to let it fly again.

Hi,

Yes, the Spark is an impressing bit of technology. And yes, flying a model aircraft or a drone is very exciting for the first times.
Pro tip #1: Find yourself a spot so you have the sun in your back with respect to your planned flight path
Pro tip #2: Have patience (like you did), wait for conditions to be good enough for you to feel confident
Pro tip #3: Get familiar with ATTI mode (see this thread) since it will happen to you sooner or later.

Cheers & have fun with your Spark!

And do not start you drone experience by flying indoors..
Go small steps..

Thanks people.
Next Saturday I'll begin a course to achieve a flight licence, too.
So I think I'll find nice people and find nice places to flight to.
Thanks, really!

So, you got that initial excitement and nothing happened to your drone... than why sad?

I guess, people sometimes just love to complain.

What? Why?
I just reported that my first ever flight was not so interesting.
If I can't tell that, no problem. Just ignore me.

Because I've waited until order and until I've received it. And when today I used it, it was so windy I barely fly for 10 minutes. And now weather is so messy I have to wait next week.
For that I'm sad.

So you would actually like first experience was a little bit spicier in a form of:
a) lost control
b) flyaway
c) crash?

Really don't get it....

Congrats on your first flight, don't be sad. There are many on here who have problems with their first or second flight and their story is one of a drone crashing or flying away and getting lost. You at least are smart enough to know when it's time to cut short your flight and bring your Spark back safely. Spring is coming and with it, better weather for flying, taking photos and videos. Be patient, most here took small flights at first until their skill and confidence increased. Good luck!

Ok, don't mind.
I expected too much maybe from my first time.

There is one thing, for me, which makes it exiting or not.
Location!
In my understanding, this is not a model aircraft, for flying it around for 10-1x minutes and having fun with it.
For me it is a camera, which I have to position (to fly to the best position) to get an exiting (hopefully) picture.
Which I can not get from where I am standing.

But in the beginning, of course learning to fly is part of the exitement.
Just without any idea of a picture (I suggest Panos or Spheres, even over video, mostly), I think I am missing something.

So get you an idea, for the location you wanna fly next.
For a single picture, a 180 horizontal, a vertical Pano and, of course, for a Sphere.
And use the Video on the way to that "idea", to see what you can do with that stuff, too.

No matter what you do, first time can always be kind of awkward.
I once got so drunk my first time  (I was nervous) that I ended up completely falling out.

Hi, thanks for sharing your story and feedback to us. We would recommend flying your drone in a recommended environment to prevent the incident. Hope everything will go well soon so that you could fly your aircraft again. Please let us know if you have other concerns. Thank you for continued support.
