Hi everyone, I am trying to get some insight on the new upgraded " boosted props". I have the older Phantom Vision Plus not the upgraded one that recently came out and I am planning on upgrading to the new "boosted props" 9450 is it compatible with the old motors   DJI 2212 920KV Motor?. Do I have to upgrade my motors too if I have to use those new props? I would appreciate some feedback. Thanks

The 9450 props are definitely ok to use with the old 2212 motors.

No problem. Dji do state they are compatible and I use them on my phantom with 2212 motors and they work fine.

I have just checked my "old and spares" stock of props and there is no product ID on them.  Do the new props have an ID mark or will we be running the risk of getting them mixed up with the old version?  Or are there any obvious visual differences other the package code?

If you look closely, the old ones have 9443 in raised lettering on them. The new ones have 9450 on them. Its very hard to see.
Apart from that they look very similar. Also the new ones are quite a bit stiffer if you flex them near the ends, you should notice quite a difference.
Definitely try not to mix them up, I would imagine some problems if you accidently mixed them on the bird.

Yes you are right- these tired old eyes have found it.  It is on the top leading edge of one side of the blade- but it is tiny!!!

New props are also a little bit wider and yes, stiffer on feel. I got mine today I will test it tomorrow.

There is scant and inconsistent information on these new 9450 blades which I will receive tomorrow.  Some say they are slightly longer.  So the question is, does the current, and only, dji-manufactured  prop guard fully protect them?  There are contradictory opinions on this in other forums.

Sorry, but I don't use prop guards they make my quad unstable in high altitude. I have tried the new "boosted props" 9450 and it flew fine, but I noticed the flight time was lessen by around 5 mins.  The pitch on the "boosted props" are designed to create more thrust therefore making the motors work harder. If you have the old version of the Vision plus it is not advisable to use these props as they might burn your ESC. The new props are only for the Version3 Phantom vision and Plus with upgraded ESC and new stronger motors. I don't want to take the risk so I went back to using my original props or at least until I upgraded my ESC and motors which is not anytime soon.

according to DJI description on the new 9450 propellers:
- "Designed for DJI Phantom 2, Phantom 2 Vision, Vision+, Flamewheel 450 or 550 with E300 series motors"
- "Impoved design to increase extra 100g lift force more than original 9443 props"
- "Achieve about 2 minutes extra flying time"

I think the "extra flying time" depends on your flying style. It makes a difference if you hover in one place (a bit wider propellers will probably help a bit) vs a lot of sudden changes (left, right, up, down)

One of the dji techs did come on a thread and say they don't recommend using the new props on the 2212 motors.  It was pointed out that it contradicts what was stated on their "store" and quoted above.  I'm going to give them a try... Can't be worse than the cf blades that were on mine when I bought it, which I had no issues with.
I'm holding off on upgrading to the v3 propulsion until they sort out why the esc's are frying!

Agreed it is tiny, I have just put a highlighter pen across the words, so that I do not mix them with the older ones
