I’m having trouble connecting my OTG cable to my spark controller! Do they work with it?

With regards to that may I ask have you tried to use a different USB cable or try to check if the OTG cable working properly? Make sure as well your Device is not connected to the RC wifi's. Official the OTG cable isn't supported.
However I can confirm it works excelent.

Ensure Air Plane mode is enabled whislt using the cable.

You sometimes need to plug in and out a few times

AND some cables are not wired correctly.

Some of the cheaper ones are made for charging only - no data can actuall be transmitted via the cable. Ensur eyou get one thats confirmed to work

Also with IOS you will get a error message saying "Your assesory my not be supported" just ignore this.

Your spark controller has a MicroUSB plug.  If your phone also has a MicroUSB plug, swap the cable's ends.  Only one end is the "host".    if your phone has USB-C, you may have a cable which has the wrong end as the "host".  The "host" end should be plugged into the controller.
