Nice video, a little misleading though, it ends with the words "Ukrainian heritage". It's Cetatea Albă, even the name is Romanian. It means The White City (fortified city, to be exact). Alexander the Good and Stephan the Great were both moldavians.
Other than that, I enjoyed it.
Thank you for positive responce! I understand your point of view and have to add some details. The city was established by ancient Greek almost 2600 years ago. Through the history it was the part of Rome Empire, Byzantine Empire (who built the first fortress there - Asprokastro, White Castle), Kievan Rus, Bulgarian Empire, Moldavia (who build new fortress Cetatea Albă), Tatar Golden Orda, Ottoman Empire (who rebuild fortress and named it Akkerman), Russian Empire. So it is actually world wide heritage. But as Ukraine own it now I decided to mark it as Ukrainian heritage without any political reason and with only one purpose: Ukrainian nation has to save this treasure for all people in the world. You are most welcome to visit the place, let me know if you are going to. We can meet there and discuss all this complicated question with some wine and a couple of plăcintă (my wife does it well). |
