Whoa!  THAT was cool!  And daring.  

I've ridden my bicycle over that bridge a few times during the 5-boro tour.  From the vid, you can't appreciate just how grueling the climb is from the Brooklyn side.

Is this mission posted on the Litchi Mission Hub?  I'm close by and would like to try it.

Is using Litchi accepted by dji? In a matter of warranty, will there be a problem that it was litchi and not dji go?

Nice footage.  Capturing more of the bridge structure in the look down angle might have been an idea to consider if you try it again.

If you crash while using Litchi I’m pretty sure DJI won’t cover any warranties. Fly at your own risk. That being said Litchi is a very stable platform as long as you do your part.

Very cool! Have you had any issue with the Mavic air flying so close to the city? such as interference and loss of connection?

I would suspect the autonomous flight helps with that

Yes, there will be problems with DJI.... although they do provide third parties with API for app development, they don't accept any warranty claims if third party app is used.

I have read horror stories about the Mavic Air loosing connectivity in areas and I plan to do alot of flying in areas similar to yours...If it were an issue, I may hold out for the MP 2

One of cool things about Litchi Waypoints is that even if you lost signal during the mission your drone will continue with a mission. I simple place last waypoint near Home point. And it will return there even if signal lost.

It’s always a gut wrenching feeling for few minutes.

That’s a bit harsh, the video was about the feat of preparing and flying a tricky litchi mission, which was implemented pretty good and so give some credit where it’s due .

Your warranty is covered if your craft malfunctions because of a fault with your craft.
Your warranty will be void if your craft crashes or is lost as a direct result of using a third party app, it is however important to know proving it was Aircraft malfunction you would almost certainly need to have your aircraft as dji will only accept logs from your craft to make a decision as to what happened.
So yes you do have some cover under your warranty while using third party apps.

Regarding your video, good job , if I could make a suggestion, having taken the risk of flying under and around the bridge, if you played around with editing you could add a bit more excitement to your video. But well you have the footage and I’m certain you can use it in plenty of remakes.
I really wanted to see footage sped up going under the bridge.

But good work look forward to your next .

That’s 100% wrong, you can clearly read in your warranty and in care refresh, it states,

Warranty is void if crash or loss of Aircraft is directly caused by use of third party app.
So if flying using third party app your craft crashes as a direct result of aircraft malfunction you warranty will cover you, yes dji recommends using dji go app, but it is not a prerequisite to flying your craft .

I meant to say that I don’t put too much meaning into this videos. I just had a sunny day in the middle of winter and flew a mission I planned long time ago.
There is nothing else to it.

Something is wrong and ty reply got posted when I was in the middle of it.In ay case I was trying to say that there is a lot of helicopters flying right above the center span of the bridge.
Although exciting, I think flying over there at those heights (even if below 400 ft) is calling for trouble and would not do it.

Never ever seen them flying low in between. Can they fly below 400 feet? Isn’t it the whole meaning of 400 feet? We fly below. They fly above.
But in any case. Some people are willing to take that extra step.

An altitude of 500 feet above the surface except over open water or sparsely populated areas. In that case, the aircraft may not be operated closer than 500 feet to any person, vessel, vehicle, or structure. (d) Helicopters.

Well, for extra safety, one can remove at least one option from DJI reasons not to accept warranty claim.

Last thing I care about while flying is DJI warranty. Ill get brand new Zoom faster than DJI will receive my return.
