Hello all,

I have a Matrice 100 which needs to be adapted for our needs. We want to programme the drone to fly on planned routes, then at a certain point, switch on our auxiliary equipment (a motor). It should then fly to a second specified point and turn the motor off, then return home.

Can anyone think of a simple way to do this? I don't want to get into creating my own app for what seems like it should be relatively easy.

Good question. I think this would be possible with ROS. You could write a Python node which subscribes to the planned waypoints topics. Once the drone's current GPS location is within some threshold (say like 5 feet) of that waypoint, then start publishing some topic such that it would control the node that controls the low level hardware controlling that motor.
