I have noticed in a number of photos that some flyers 'secure' their Spark propellers when in the carrying case.  Is this really necessary?  Seems a bit f overkill to me ...

Hello and good day Charliejspark. Thank you for reaching out and for the inquiry. If you are using the recommended carrying cases ( see attached photo ) for your DJI Spark then it is not necessary to use the propeller restrainer. These carrying cases are tested by DJI to secure your DJI Spark when travelling. For additional reference I will be posting a link eher in you can check the overview and specifications of the said carrying cases. Thank you.

I use the Fly More case a lot because it's small and fits in a backpack easily.  I don't think that the case really secures the props by itself.  Flopping up and down in a backpack makes me think the props may be flopping around, too, so I use the prop guards when cased.  The guards also protect the props while I'm fumbling around getting the Spark ready to fly.  I have also, in the past, carried the Spark uncased but wrapped in a hand towel and placed in a backpack...the props guards definitely help in this scenario.

I keep my Spark in the black foam box it came in.
Just make sure the props are folded and in the correct position before I close it. Works for me.

Bit difficult to fly if props secured!

If I use this PolarPro case I usually set up PGYTECH props holders. But when hiking with backpack, use the small foam case, and it doesn't need to guard props additionally.
