I was wondering if it is at all possible to hook up a different controller to a Mavic Air (like a Cendence or other larger controller) other than the one that hooks up to your phone.

I am sorry to say that it is not possible to control the DJI Mavic Air with a different remote controller like a DJI Cendence or other larger DJI remote controller.
