any contact equates to force that can destroy 1st surface coat.
or leave smudge (oil human finger print grasp drone offloading video usbC handling)?
smudge eventually oxidizes but coat won't, so just wait?
no soft error no warn of smudges

urge to utilize q-tip safety swab (uncontaminated) and carbonated seltzer (CO2) gently swab smudge away?
or leave alone smudge?

Not sure what "piezo 1st surface smudges" refers to.  Piezo generally mean Pressure.  Pressure first surface smudges is still meaningless.  

If whatever surface you are talking about is very easily scratched, then I would not recommend Q-tips.  Q-tips are not recommend for cleaning things like DSLR camera sensors, which are covered by couple of filters.

Undercarriage aft are piezo iridium coated on its surface (1st surface iridium deposition) appears reddish oranggish violetish color). Send and receive ultrasonic pressure wave bounceback gives landing permissivity. The soviets use piezo precise docking to space station porting. None troubles landing. Concern iridium can be changed since human finger excrete is destructive, right?

Oh, the pressure dabbing qtip onto iridium 1st surfaced.

Walmart has 99cents camera pen filled with something with one end sporting brush hairs. Thats mechanical pressure like qtip swab pressured onto iridium 1st surface, right?
I'm wondering if scotch magic transparent tape will damage 1st surfaced iridium? It does well on s8 smudges but s8 is not 1st surface coated with iridium, instead oleophobic 1st surface coat on s8

better yet, do not touch and deposit finger smudging.
That mavic air went back. It was way better than the repeat follow newbies sets returned
