Reset the controller, reset the bird: Both on, both ~9secs pushing power button. After pair remote again with Spark:

May I know what happened prior to the issue?  Did you receive an error message on the app? If yes, please provide a screenshot for further checking. Please make sure that your firmware is updated and your remote controller is properly link to your aircraft. Kindly follow the video tutorial below for your reference.Thanks for your support.

Aside, the red LED shows the connection , better no connection, connection would be green, between Spark and RC

Yes, this is a bricked controller.
Only fix is DJI service.
This forum and Spark Pilots forum is littered with several bricked controllers.
This happened when users upgraded to 0.0600 controller firmware.

No. Open a case with DJI (http://www.dji.com/support), let them replace or repair the remote control.

DJI Update caused the bricking, their responsibility to make it right.
And they have done so with the other cases.
