I have forgoten to remove the gimbal cover on my Mavic 2 Zoom a couple times before powering up. So in order avoid that I now put a piece of masking tape on the power button of the battery as a reminder, pretty much fool proof. I guess that I am used to flying the Spark and the cool thing about it is that there is nothing to do before power up, it's always ready. So have you been forgetful with your gimbal cover?

I have made it a rule to have a pre flight checklist since owning my spark, removing gimble clamp is one of them and over the years this has naturally become second nature.

I used to forget it all the time on my P3A. But as Suren I now have a preflight checklist.

Checklist is the keyword in the replies I got so far. As stated before coming from flying a Spark it's easy at first to forget about the gimbal cover.

Done it once then added this.

Well how to forget with this. My masking tape over the battery power button is an understatement.

I would forget to remove it when I did updates. Now I have a small ribbon attached to the gimbal cover as a reminder to remove it before turning on the MP.
Haven't had a problem with it since then.

I was not the only one being forgetful. Thanks for sharing your reminder.

Instead of a tag, colored my gimbal cover Red as a reminder.  Really only use gimbal cover when transporting.
