For those that prefer their crystal sky’s, all good and well. Yep you can swap out batteries but the controller still needs to be charged more often than the smart controller. The new controller is expensive, and not for everyone, especially if you already invested in a crystal sky. But I really think you should play with both before being to firm on your opinions. I’ve been playing in the RPAS field for over 20 years, and moving from old field monitors used with airborne modems, through more refined monitors and video Rx/tx, to iPads and smartphones to the crystal sky (I have the 7.85) and now to the smart controller, I feel that I can make the claim that the smart controller is superior for what I do. Sure it isnot working on non occusinc 2 craft, but the crystal sky doesn’t work with many of my older drones, and iPad doesn’t work on older drones still. If you want to keep operating older gen craft, nothing wrong with that but it is a bit much to complain that latest tech is not compatible. To do what I do now with my mav 2 and smartcontroller all packed into the DJI hard case with 4 batteries/ filters and some other accessories, I used to have to drive with a van full of equipment just a decade ago.
The smart controller is great product that works well, and I love having it as part of my kit
Hi Jack! Thank you for your comment, happy to see you own both devices, and can give us a clear idea about which one suits us better. |
