1) I noticed there are apps available for download to help extending the FPV range of P2V+ for an additional range of 50% - 100%. Do you think it does what it advertised? If yes, which app would you recommend; FPV Booster or Vision+ Utility?

2) I flew my P2V+ on a big field near the housing area yesterday. Unfortunately, I have experienced interuption of live FPV from my Samsung S3 where the signal was disconnected at the distance of only 150ft between RC and the drone. I noticed there is a Power Supply hub (to supply power to that housing area) located nearby the field. Do you think this is the cause of my problem?

150' isn't very far. I can usually get around 1500' before fpv cuts out. Are you aiming the WiFi extender on the remote at the phantom during flight? 150' is about the range I'd expect from WiFi without the extender. As far as the apps are concerned, I hear they work but have no personal experience with them. Supposedly they just increase the tx power in the WiFi software, which I think may reduce battery life a little bit. There are actually instructions on the web for how to increase the tx power manually without an app if you're slightly technically inclined.

Yup, I did aim the Wifi extender at the Phantom during flight but to no avail, hence suspect there was Wifi interference due to the power supply hub located nearby.

Thanks for your suggestion to increase tx power manually. If not mistaken, that require drilling holes (to add antenna) at the wifi extender with some modification on the electronic board. Unfortunately, this would mean warranty void as well; which I am quite hesitate to do so. Unless you meant otherwise, please enlighten me.

I was actually talking about something like this not modifying any hardware. Anyhow, you might want to see what kind of range you get in a different location. If it's still around 150', there's probably something wrong with your WiFi extender.

I tried today in different location (open environment) and the max that I can go is only around 500ft

I had this once, my drone did not fly very far, around 300' , I kept losing signal, but I realized that it's because my remote control battery needs to replaced, there's no indicator tells if your battery is low for RC.

I have modded my phantom 2 with lightbridge and achieved 2200m. Still i had 70% signal strenght, but only 10% video strength. At this point the drone was occatianally lossing signal but always came back on. I still felt i could have gone much further.

I haven't had a chance to test that hack myself yet. But I'll post on here when I do. If you're only getting a 500ft range with a clear line of sight to the Phantom, something is definitely wrong. You might need to have it serviced.
