What you can see here is a celebration of the ending of a pilgrimage to this hermitage, basically it is a lot of people making stews and barbecues, and you can also see some archeological remains and the hermitage, here are some information about the place:
LA ERMITA (The Hermitage)
The sanctuary and its enclave have a long historical tradition since antiquity.
It is located in the municipality of Granátula de Calatrava, in Ciudad Real, the land of Don Quixote.
Located next to the left bank of the Jabalón River, very close to the important Cañada Real de Andalucía, in the heart of a large and rich archaeological zone with vestiges of prehistory but, fundamentally, of the Ibero-Roman era. We refer to the ruins of the city of Oretum and its surroundings.
Iberians, Romans, Visigoths, Berbers and finally, Christians were successively inhabiting this place.
The hermitage as a whole as we know it today is a construction of marked defensive character, rebuilt in the thirteenth century on the remains of an important Visigoth basilica and necropolis that still retains its baptistery of Paleochristian origin.
