1-Location: Australia restriction for private/recreation use only

2-Time: Day time

3-DJI drone: Spark (valid  for all drone weighing less than 2kg)

4-7Application process: Not required for recreation flight with Australian Aviation authority if you respect zone where you can fly with these restrictions:

Don’t fly higher than 120 meters above the ground and keep your drone within visual line of sight
Keep a separation distance of 30 meters to people
    Controlled aerodrome/airports have a 5.5km exclusion zone

You can check them here https://casa.dronecomplier.com or with casa application on a smartphone

If you want to fly in the national park you should respect this rule:

It will not annoy or cause risk to visitors, or invade their privacy.
It will not be a nuisance or cause risk to wildlife.
It will not interfere with park-management operations.

And you have to check if you can fly with park authority who depend on the region some did not permit at all like Uluru park.

South Australia(https://www.parks.sa.gov.au/permits-and-licences/drones-and-aircraft) did not permit without a permit
New South Wales: normally you should speak with a manager before if you forget or to short  you can try to fly at your own discretion
Queensland: no other rule but might be changed anytime
For other regions, you can check this website might not be up to date (https://www.reeffree.com.au/blog/view/can-i-fly-my-drone-in-over-australian-national-parks/)

5-Travel with a drone: Just comply with your company for battery allowance in flight (generally in a reasonable amount in check-in luggage)

6-Custom: Should not be a problem as it is not a commercial product

Where would you fly a drone in Sydney while keeping a distance of 30 m from people?

Apparently not in South Australia though - flying anyway lol... Such a nanny state.. not to mention that SA national parks have the lowest visitor numbers.. meanwhile, in any other state, we can all fly, despite more park visitors !!!

Hi All. New Drone pilot. The information above is outdated and should be removed/updated. Flying in the excluded category (250g-2kgs) recreationally, requires you to have a CASA Operator accreditation and to register your drone. The process is all online, very easy and has no cost. Refer to the CASA website for Drones.

As above, I suggest that this page is updated / removed.

Thanks
