under basic, there is a tab called mounting.
I havent seen this tab mentioned in any of the videos regarding setting up.

I am wondering if it is for substantial payloads???

I wanted to attach a gimbal guard and camera guard.
will this effect the drone to the point of having to adjust any other setting?

The setup is for those that have handbuilt the quad, not those like you that are flying ready to fly quads from DJI such as the Phantom range.

It lets the user set the location of the naza and GPS unit in relation to the centre of gravity.

Fitting any of the guards will have no effect on how your quad operates providing its one of the phantom range\.
