hi asia - as dji stephen says, you should avoid using bloated batteries - risk of losing your drone whilst flying with bloated battery is very high. although not always , bloated batteries i think are mostly caused by human error - either because they have been dropped/damaged or due to keeping batteries fully charged for too long or from tooo much excessive discharge (ie full stick forward and full stick climb) for extended/continuous periods of time. Unofrtunately battery warentee expires after 6 months so it seems you may have to buy new batteries. If you take care of them properly and they do not get hurt due to crashes or being dropped then they should last a very long time - mine so far in excess of 250 charges
Thanks for sharing. Is basic respoonsibility to take care of the batteries, am very sure there is no knock or drop on hard ground. However, first time i heard of excessive discharge and i didn't know going at full stick will damage the battery. Is unfortunate i did not come across the "Don'ts" of the intelligent battery. I may have unknowingly went full sticks for a few times and cause the batteries slightly bloated. I heard from my friend he charged his battery over 240 times and so far is good.
Am not mad but slightly annoyed this happened on the 7th month just after the waranty. I wish DJI would have state this clearly somewhere in their website of the "Don'ts", or is there a warning signal of excessive flying in full stick in the RC so user can be made aware?
Is painful to get 2 new batteries but better than crashing the entire drone with bloated batteries. |
