Hi everybody,
I am planning a vacation on Vancouver Island in May, June and July 2019, so the new rules apply also for me.
As I am a foreigner trying to fly a Mavic Air legally in Canada, it is actually a bit frustrating at the moment. I simply do not know what steps I have to do in order to be able to fly in Canada in basic operations (not advanced).
Can anybody help me out?
- I see that I have to apply for a SFOC, right?
- It is stated that you should bring along a statement from your own government that you are legally allowed to fly your drone in your home country. In Germany, such a permit does not exist... what to do?
- Within the SFOC application I must provide the drone registration number. How do I register the drone as a foreigner? There is this Drone Management Web Portal but only Canadian citiziens and residents can register a drone.
- Do I have to take this online exam for basic operations? Where to enroll as a foreigner?
Thank you guys in advance!
Kai
