Let me share you my drone experience while travelling to Cyprus due to a wedding. Location: Paphos, Cyprus Drone: Mavic Air Additional Equipment: Mavic AIR power bank, an extra SD card and ND filters Registration, Rules and Regulation: According to Cyprus’s national aviation authority, the Cyprus Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), flying a drone is legal in Cyprus, but it is recommend being aware of and compliant with the rules and regulations below.
- All drones must be registered through this website link before an operation:
- - The maximum flying altitude for drones is 50 meters (170 feet) above ground or sea level for the Open category (recreational licence for UAV less than 3kg) and up to 120 meters (400 feet) above ground or sea level for the Special Category (commercial license for UAV less than 25kg). Exemptions may be granted to special category drone operators by the Department of Civil Aviation;
- - Direct visual contact with the drone is mandatory and the distance between the operator and the drone should not exceed 500 meters;
- - Do not fly close to residential areas and people;
- - Safety distance of 1 kilometer from residential areas;
- - Safety distance of 500 meters from isolated buildings, people, vehicles, animals, structures, etc., except with the owner’s/person’s consent;
- - Do not fly close to airport and heliports. Safety distance of at least eight (8) kilometers from airports and at least three (3) kilometers from heliports;
- - It is not permitted to fly a drone at night;
- - No flying above, within, or in proximity to military installations, public utility installations, archaeological sites and public or private facilities;

Customs Process:
- - Carry on the drone on your hand luggage and inform the airport security officers you are with a drone;
- - Open your drone bag at the roentgen;
- - Discharge the batteries during the flight;
And The Output
I have asked the bride and the groom whether I can take the drone with me on the wedding. “Of course”, they replied, and added that they have hired professional team of photographers also with drones. The 3 member-photo team were with 2-3 cameras each, tripods with lights all around, and of course, with a Phantom 4 Pro and a Mavic Pro. Since these drones doesn’t have Asteroid, and I wanted to make a good asteroid of the bride and the groom due to its universality, this was the first thing I’ve done after the photo session had begun: Asteroid Just Married:
