I usually download all .mp4 files (in "\DCIM\100MEDIA" folder) as well as the real-time generated .mov (720p) thumbnails (in hidden "\MISC\THM" folder).

Recently I forgot to download the thumbnails. Meanwhile, I formatted the SD card, made new recordings ... in short, the thumbs were gone!

Is it somehow possible to re-generate these thumbnails after recording, by e.g. putting the original copied .mp4 files back to "\DCIM\100MEDIA" followed by some (?!) manipulations?

I doubt it, although I have never tried it. The thumbnails are meant to be used as proxies when editing, and most capable video editing programs can generate them for you.

Yes, I also had doubts. Just to be sure I asked.

I know how to generate the thumbs in post processing - no problem. But I was looking for the ones generated by the DJI itself during (or after) recording.
