Aloha R,

Check again, back in stock again.  Maybe check every couple hours if they are selling out so fast.  Catch them when you can and latch on!  They do offer a notification option.

Where do they ship from Cetacean ?

Aloha Manx,

China, and they fly the polar route sometimes to Tennessee, pick up more, and then California, pick up more, and on to Hawai'i.  The others fly from China to California, pick up more, and then back to Hawai'i.  Cargo planes have no need to stop in Hawai'i unless it is for delivery.  Long haul flights.

Aloha Manx,

Really!!!  Maybe they would fly to London first (it is polar) - who knows.  I had a hard enough time figuring out how stuff got to Hawai'i!  It would bust my okole to try to figure out how the long-haul cargo flights would end up delivering to Western Australia!  But I do know the flights would end at Perth and then go by truck from there!

You do realize you are at the end of the Earth - right!  After you it quickly turns to ice!  (After a lot of ocean.)  I got Perth, Australia up on Google Earth and other than the rest of Australia - there is almost nothing there!  Must be peaceful there.  No wonder the cetaceans like it there.

The problems of shipping to Australia have been pervasive here on the Forum and now that you have brought it to my attention, it makes sense.  I wonder if some of the other guys who follow shipping can give us some input on this.  We know that shipping is primarily long-haul flights ending with local ground level deliveries.  That is pretty much world-wide.

There are Airline Flight route maps that gauge passenger flights.  Long-haul cargo flights tend to follow those routes for economic support services.  Maybe you could look that up?  I would really be interested in what the major air-trade and passenger terminals are in Australia.  All the big cities are terminals, but which ones have the largest volume?

Dude!  You should know better than ask a curious old man questions like this!

WA isn't remote at all !  The rest of the continent is though
Yeah,  lots of our gear is landed in the East & road freighted across.  Lighter stuff can come by air.  We reckon on 10 days delivery ex East generally if it's road freight.  Most of that time is spent in depots as the road transport (road trains) can do the trip in about 3 days.  Getting the stuff to Perth is just the start of the trip,  if you live up north there may be another couple of thousand k's to go.
When you look at the map,  there are really only 2 main roads between the East & West.  That's one at the South of the island & one at the North.  There are other roads/tracks through the middle but dirt & poorly maintained in general

Aloha Manx,

Would you believe in the last century, I pitched a road-train transit system for mega transit research here in Honolulu?  Some guys in Queensland helped with the logistics and technology.  I love you guys road trains!  Of course nothing happened because of the politics and control of the money and amounts of money.  My idea was economical!  Honolulu is now screwed because of Honolulu Area Rapid Transit (HART) and the Feds are investigating.

The best part of my proposal was that, using road trains with passenger cars, you could see if there was a market for mega transit.  Then after a determination was made, the vehicles could be shipped to another destination for further research in another urban area looking at mega-transit needs.

WOW,  that would have been big.  I have never visited your fair state,  but wouldn't have thought Road Trains would have been practical - just a feeling is all

Aloha Manx,

It was entirely doable but would require escort vehicles in urban areas and large turn around locations with synced traffic lights.  The Road Trains are so long that they are going to block traffic if they are not properly managed.  With self powered cars, they could even climb our mountains to the tunnels to serve all sides of the island.  It still is a good idea but Big Transit has an established system of approaching politicians to generate money.  The Road Train idea has to figure out a way to cost tons of wasteful money in order to succeed.

Sounds like typical (un)sound political expense justification.  LOL
