Same problem here, happened since last FW update.  No video feed upon boot up with SC and M2P.  Have relinked several times and still occurs.  Requires multiple reboots to regain video feed.  DJI please fix this soon!

I have both the Mavic Pro 2 & zoom. Using same smart controller by selecting aircraft. Got it 10 months ago. Just happens occasionally[usually when it is a time critical situation] Rebooting relinking nothing helps. Got no help from DJI support.

Then the next morning it will work.
I replaced the smart controller.
Did same thing.
Suffered through thinking new firmware would fix it.
New firmware installed a month ago.
Worked fine.
Its back; today I could get no video feed with the Mavic Pro.
What can I do?

The above pictures show the version of the firmware etc.  In trying several times,  I would sometimes get the gray blank screen,  sometimes the image is displayed but in gray,  and then sometimes it works.  I need to know if I need to return this if not fixable.  This has to work 100% all the time.

Same issue with mine.
That's why it's in the mail, heading for Texas.
While it's aggravating, at least I can see there's an issue, and hopefully they'll get to the bottom of it soon.

Very sad to read these stories, I have chosen the SC to have superior stability and a dedicated solution to fly but I encountered:
- embarrassing first update workflow;
- grey screen issues;

My first big drone and controller purchase, and the grey screen hit mine right out of the box.
So far, customer service has been great!
While I had to send the controller and drone to Texas, I feel that they'll be able to troubleshoot and fix whatever the issue is.
While I was disappointed, I still believe in the DJI brand, and know I'll be up and flying soon!

I found a solution...that seems to work and I haven't had the problem for months.
Turn on first the drone and then the smartcontroller (not vice versa).
Note:
If you need to change the battery between flights, remember to turn off the smartcontroller as well.
First you access the drone and then the smartcontroller.
Also on mavicpilot.com it has been discussed for a while and the solution described above seems to work...always (..)

I will chime in as well.  This happened to me too today for the first time.  That is why I searched for others with same issue.  My SC also had a proper SD card inserted. My incident happened as my Mav2pro  was sitting on landing pad (thankfully).   I checked my image transmission settings and a few others during my GSOD (Grey Screen Of Death) while standing right next to it.  After about 5 minutes and realizing I was stumped, I powered off then back on both SC and MAv2pro.  Issue went away and I decided to fly (close and cautiously) through a full battery.  Then flew farther on next three batteries.  My SC is still like new but about 3 months old.   It has the latest firmware update (first thing I checked when I got home).  Is this issue going to be resolved I wonder?  Seems like there is small percentage of us experiencing the same thing.  I'm sure others have or will experience this at some point and I hope DJI investigates the problem.

I thought I would try taking off and hover just above landing pad to see if the problem would correct itself before I power cycled SC and Mav2Pro.  It did not.

Exactly! I am so afraid of losing video in flight, this is dangerous and needs to be addressed ASAP!

I just got my first Drone. Mavic 2 Zoom. This is my second day of flying and I'm having the same grey image problem too. Really frustrating. It does not look like anyone has a solid fix. I always start drone first and then controller, I still get the grey screen about 8 out of 10 times.

Got the email the other day, they replaced the main board, either in the drone or the SC (not sure), and are sending both units back.
I'm so excited, and hopefully it'll work properly now.

I have the exact same problem   I have had the SC and M2P for about a year.  The problem happens on startup, before flight.   No video feed, but everything else seems to be working.   I keep the firmware on both the controller and M2P updated.   The problem seems to be getting worse.  At first it would happen occasionally and I would restart the bird and controller and it would be fixed.  Lately, it has taken several restarts to get the video feed working again.

I removed the memory card from the Smart Controller and have not had this problem since.
