I picked up mine on the release day. But unfortunately I have trouble when update its firmware. I got message on app, and when I try to update it to 1.02, it fail at 50%.
Tried it 10 times  reboot, reinstall the app, no improvement.
Does anyone meet similar situation? should I send back to DJI?

Seems like a worthy competitor for the GoPro.

Just purchased mine. Took some test photos via the app and the camera itself but they never seem to be in focus - any tips or ideas as to why its failing to focus correctly?

I presume you removed the plastic protector?  How close/far was the subject?  What settings are you using?

Hi PickandMicks, may I verify if you enable RockeSteady or not? Was the Dewarp turned on? Are you running the latest firmware V01.02.00.10? Were the picture and video in the SD card clear? If no, please upload several original pictures to Dropbox or Google Drive and post the link here for further analysis, thank you.

Hi elberti, Osmo Action uses RockSteady technology to stabilize footage. This EIS technology is realized by increasing the shutter speed, analyzing the images captured by the CMOS sensor, and compensating by cutting off the edges of these images. In this way, multiple frames are overlaid and finally combined into a single frame that is sharp, clear, and accurately exposed.

Hi AsherZZZ, sorry for the troubles on updating the firmware, the firmware can also be updated via the SD card: Download the firmware from our website (https://www.dji.com/osmo-action/info#downloads) to the root of the SD card, then insert to Osmo Action and power on the device to update.
Please try with the SD card and let us know if it works, thank you.

Someone may have the precise figures but there was some link/post that shows the Osmo Action is about 4 to 6 grams heavier.  

I´m sure that the Action is a good camera and that the features works fine. However, as a action camera it is worthless without a remote that can be placed elsewhere than the camera. And, no, a smartphone is not a remote. This will never be a contender to GoPro or Sony unless you add a remote like they have.

Ok, slowly convincing me to add this to my collection.

The Osmo Action lacks GPS which the GoPro 7 Black has. Neither does the Osmo Action have a built in GPS module (probably why it’s cheaper) which makes me think that DJI will be bringing out a new ‘Action’ as a firmware update won’t fix this. I’m holding out a little longer, I want the GPS information.

That does sound like a reasonable speculation.   But now that I have this one, I hope you are wrong (g)

You are right. I can live without GPS but I cannot without bluetooth remote. DJI, do you have any information if any remote will be available, or can any third party remote be paired with your camera?

I'm excited to see more footage examples!  Might be time to trade up my GoPro 6

Obviously, without a gps you lost your sense of direction.  But you don't need a gps in that cave anyway.
